Sean Manaea suffers setback in Mets injury return
Briefly

Sean Manaea's hopes for a return to the Mets in April or May appear increasingly unlikely, as he has been shut down from pitching for at least two weeks following a PRP injection due to a strained oblique. An MRI revealed inflammation, complicating his rehab. Once cleared to throw, he will require approximately six weeks for spring training buildup. Meanwhile, the Mets are managing with other pitchers in rotation, and catcher Luis Torrens provides a positive offensive contribution as the starting catcher in Francisco Alvarez's absence.
"He's getting shut down for two weeks and then we have to revisit and see where he is after that," Mendoza said before the Mets' 4-2 loss to the Marlins.
"When Alvi went down, you feel good with Torrens," Mendoza said of Torres, who went 0-for-3 in the Mets' loss on Tuesday night.
