NYCFC equalized with a goal from Nicolás Fernández in the 17th minute. Agustin Ojeda then gave NYCFC a 2-1 lead in the 59th minute. Lionel Messi equalized with a free kick shortly after, and assisted Micael dos Santos' winner. Inter Miami's victory ties them for second place in the Eastern Conference, handing NYCFC their first loss of the season.
