Flamingo Lodge is a new hotel option within Florida's Everglades National Park, having recently reopened after being demolished in 2009 due to hurricane damage. Initially established in 1966, the original lodge served as a popular destination for nearly four decades before closing. The new lodge, a collaboration between Flamingo Adventures and the National Park Service, features 24 rooms built from shipping containers and aims to enhance the visitor experience in this expansive wilderness area, which has attracted tourists for generations.
The Flamingo area in Everglades National Park has been an important destination for decades of park visitors looking to explore the nation's largest subtropical wilderness, said JJ Condella, general manager of Flamingo Adventures.
The original Flamingo Lodge was a popular spot for nearly 40 years, and we're proud to unveil the new lodge - the only hotel within the national park - together with our National Park Service partners.
