Fiola Miami, a popular Italian restaurant, will be closing this summer after seven years of operation. Owned by Gioia Hospitality, the closure coincides with the end of its management agreement with Fabio Trabocchi Restaurants. Founder Tom Angelo plans to open a larger Daniel's steakhouse in the space, responding to community demand for a similar dining experience to its Fort Lauderdale location. While the new restaurant will focus on steakhouse cuisine, it will also incorporate some beloved dishes from Fiola, benefiting from the larger kitchen space.
"We've had dozens of our regulars visit us at Daniel's from Coral Gables and South Miami, and without exception they say this is the type of cuisine that doesn't exist in the community."
"To secure long term success for years to come, the best path forward is a steakhouse rather than an Italian concept."
