ICE arrests alleged member of Cuba's Ministry of the Interior in South Florida

Daniel Morejon Garcia, a 57-year-old Cuban national and alleged Communist Party member, was arrested in Miami for purportedly falsifying immigration documents. According to ICE, he failed to disclose his affiliations with the Cuban Communist Party and the Ministry of the Interior in his immigration applications. An investigation using official Cuban government documents led to his identification. Morejon Garcia is also implicated in having a role in Cuba's National Defense Council and the Rapid Response Brigades, groups linked to suppressing protests within Cuba, particularly during notable civil unrest in July 2021.
