Gas prices in South Florida have seen a decline, with Miami averaging $3.01 per gallon, down nearly 9 cents from last week. While prices are slightly higher than a month ago, they remain significantly lower compared to a year prior. North Florida is now the cheapest region for gas, with many areas averaging below $3 per gallon. Experts suggest that the recent drop in crude oil prices is influencing this decrease at the pump, with potential for further reductions in the coming weeks.
"The recent drop in crude oil prices now appear to be impacting prices at the pump," said Mark Jenkins, spokesperson for AAA - The Auto Club Group. "The state average could drift back down near the $3 per gallon threshold this week."
Gas prices in South Florida are down nearly 9 cents from a week ago, with an average of $3.01 a gallon, indicating fluctuations influenced by crude oil prices.
Several North Florida areas are averaging less than $3 a gallon as the region remains the cheapest to get gas in the state, in some places about 20 cents less per gallon than South Florida.
Naples and Palm Beach County are among the most expensive areas for gas, showing a notable price disparity within the state.
