The New England Patriots have bolstered their safety position by signing veteran Marcus Epps to a one-year deal valued at $4.4 million. Epps, who previously played for the Las Vegas Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles, has a substantial NFL resume despite a recent ACL injury. Over his career, he has logged impressive stats, including 294 tackles and three interceptions. This signing comes as the Patriots look to enhance their roster, especially with recent re-signings and current players like Kyle Dugger and Jabrill Peppers already on the depth chart.
Epps has started his past 37 appearances and totaled 3,282 snaps in the secondary as well as 858 snaps on special teams since entering the league.
Selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL draft, Epps was claimed off waivers by the Philadelphia Eagles midway through his rookie campaign and remained through Super Bowl LVII.
