Dolphins CB Ethan Bonner hurt in preseason game; plus, Achane, Sieler updates
Briefly

Ethan Bonner of the Miami Dolphins exited the preseason game against the Detroit Lions with a hamstring injury. Coach Mike McDaniel confirmed the injury but noted the severity is uncertain. Bonner is in competition for a roster spot and significant playing time in a cornerback unit lacking established starters. Running back De'Von Achane and defensive tackle Zach Sieler were also held out but are not expected to have long-term injuries. Achane has a lower body soft tissue issue, while Sieler's situation is not severe despite the precaution taken.
"Appears to be hamstring, don't know the severity," McDaniel said. "We'll check that out when we get back."
Achane is dealing with a soft tissue lower body injury that's not severe, semi-preventative, but kind of tricky for timelines.
It was a situation where he could have, if we had a regular-season game, it would have been a very different situation. But there's nothing severe going on.
Bonner is competing for significant playing time among a Dolphins cornerbacks unit void of sure-fire starters.
