Lenard Davis, a maintenance supervisor, earned more than $313,000 last year largely due to $200,000 in overtime, outpacing even the county mayor and various department heads.
As a spokesperson stated, 'Ongoing labor shortages have necessitated the use of supervisors to fulfill essential maintenance tasks - to ensure needed upgrades and repairs can be made as swiftly as possible.'
With severe staffing shortages in the transit system's maintenance staff, the county paid around $330 million in overtime last year, emphasizing the high cost of labor deficits.
No employee in Miami-Dade's workforce earned more through overtime last year than Lenard Davis, underscoring the financial strain on taxpayers due to these staffing issues.
