One of the boats in PortMiami crash operated as illegal charter, Coast Guard says

The captain of the Obelix, a 43-foot, luxury center-console vessel powered by five engines, wasn't licensed to have paid passengers on board, a violation of the Passenger Vessel Safety Act.
The charter company's owner, State Jakab, told the Miami Herald in a text Wednesday that he is discussing the issue with investigators, but disagrees with the Coast Guard's finding.
