Derek Hill has returned to the Miami Marlins after a five-week recovery from a sprained left wrist. He sustained the injury on May 25 while making a diving catch during a game against the Los Angeles Angels. Hill's batting average stands at .233, with two home runs in 23 games this season. Besides Hill's return, the Marlins made additional roster changes, claiming pitcher Nick Nastrini off waivers from the White Sox and sending him to Triple-A Jacksonville while also managing their injured players roster.
Outfielder Derek Hill was reinstated from the 10-day injured list by the Miami Marlins on Tuesday after he missed five weeks with a sprained left wrist.
Hill was injured when he made a diving catch in the eighth inning of a 3-0 win at the Los Angeles Angels on May 25.
In other moves Tuesday, the Marlins claimed right-hander Nick Nastrini off waivers from the Chicago White Sox and optioned him to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Miami also optioned infielder Jack Winkler to Jacksonville and transferred right-hander Max Meyer to the 60-day IL.
