Miguel Alejandro Pastran Hernandez, 24, was sentenced to 12 years in prison after he kidnapped a rideshare driver in Texas, forcing him to drive over 1,300 miles to South Florida. The incident began on Aug. 16 when he ordered a ride, later manipulating the driver into complying with his demands. Mr. Pastran Hernandez ordered a ride around 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 16 near Arlington, Texas. After the driver ... saw that Mr. Pastran Hernandez was holding what appeared to be a firearm.
According to federal prosecutors, Mr. Pastran Hernandez told the driver to call his children and tell them he was on a long work trip so they would not get suspicious.
