Just days before new regulations on alcohol sales were set to take effect in Doral, a judge dismissed a lawsuit from the owner of Martini Bar challenging these measures.
Following the tragic shooting at Martini Bar that resulted in two fatalities, new security measures were introduced, including earlier closing times to ensure safety in nightlife venues.
Councilwoman Maureen Porras' new ordinance, aimed at tightening security measures at nightlife establishments, establishes a last call at 1:30 a.m. and closing time at 2:00 a.m.
The city council reduced the hours even further at the request of Councilman Rafael Pineyro, increasing the restrictions on alcohol sales in Doral nightclubs.
