Coach Ben's struggles in Yellowjackets exemplify a character caught in a brutal power struggle, depicting his agony through starvation and isolation. His efforts to survive become increasingly futile while isolated from a group that embraces cannibalism. Ultimately, in the episode "Thanksgiving (Canada)", he meets a tragic end when Natalie mercy-stabs him after a brutal force-feeding. This pivotal moment not only brings relief to Ben's suffering but also sets the stage for the arrival of a new group, shaping future events in the series.
As much as I would have wanted Coach Ben to survive the wilderness and have a grown-up version in the present day - I always pitched myself as playing the aged-up version of me, like a Mandy Moore in This Is Us - that wasn't really possible for the rest of the cast.
Ben's efforts to keep himself alive in season three have mostly been an exercise in futility, even with allies like Natalie Scatorccio, who did her best to protect him.
