Woman suffered seizures and had to relearn to walk after addiction to 'easy to buy' drug spiralled
Briefly

Jordan Micu, an Illinois financial worker, developed an addiction to laughing gas while working from home, inhaling three to four canisters daily. Her loneliness and lack of social connections contributed to her escalating use of the substance. Despite experiencing seizures, including one that caused her to fall and injure herself, she continued using laughing gas. In September 2024, she was diagnosed with epilepsy following multiple seizures and is currently undergoing treatment. Micu reflects on her experiences of severe addiction and loss of control during her health decline.
I was very lonely. I didn't have any friends. I was remote working as well. That absolutely contributed to everything.
The main reason I think I started using them was because moving here I didn't know anybody to buy any other drugs from and I knew these were legal to buy in store.
I would wake up, inhale it and go back to sleep.
Looking back on my December incident, I woke up one day and tried to get out of bed.
