"I was told that nobody would want to marry me. People related to me were telling me that."
"It became a huge havoc on my self esteem, I became shy, withdrawn,"
"Honestly, while I was in the situation I didn't realise how toxic it was, it was only when I got out of it."
"They have said it's inspirational, people saying, 'I didn't know it was common and thought they were the only one'."
Usha Singh-Das experienced severe eczema and grew up in a London home marked by narcissism and unsupportive parental figures. Family members frequently told her she was ugly and that nobody would want to marry her, and she endured widespread bullying that shattered her self-esteem and left her shy and withdrawn. After leaving London she moved to Birmingham and studied television production, later meeting her husband, whose support and that of his family helped rebuild her confidence. She reclaimed her identity, embraced resilience, and now shares her journey to give hope to others who feel alone.
