For people with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), the prelude to their period is a nightmare, filled with rage storms, depression, and anxiety. Over 70% have considered suicide, and a third have attempted it.
PMDD research lags behind postpartum depression, with 80% less funding, despite impacting five times as many people. Only nine studies are funded for PMDD compared to 139 for postpartum depression.
