Abhinav Pandey, initially torn between emergency medicine and critical care, found his passion for neurosurgery during a rotation at Weill Cornell Medical College. With the encouragement of a resident and his previous lab experience, he pursued an elective in the field. On Match Day, he was among the few to secure a neurosurgery residency, specifically at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Celebrating with family, friends, and classmates, the students reveled in their achievements as residency results were unveiled to nearly 47,200 medical students across the country.

Graduating medical students revel in their residency matches during Match Day. Match results this year were revealed simultaneously at noon Eastern time to medical students nationwide.
It’s an incredible feeling to know that my future is set now. I can reunite with my partner at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
The students gathered at a ceremony on the Starr Foundation-Maurice R. Greenberg Conference Center Terrace to open their envelopes, celebrating their achievements.
