The Global Flourishing Study (GFS) is an extensive international longitudinal study examining well-being across 22 diverse countries. It seeks to define and measure flourishing while assessing factors that influence it. The first wave of data was released in early 2024, revealing significant insights into various social dimensions such as inner peace, relationships, and optimism. The findings indicate a concerning trend where wealthier nations struggle with aspects of meaning and connection, while young people worldwide face challenges in achieving fulfillment and stability.
We all desire to flourish. The flourishing of all people should be made a national and international priority across the globe.
Wealthier countries have fallen behind on meaning, character, and relationships, and young people in many countries are struggling to find their place.
