Luke Loughlin, a Westmeath GAA player now in recovery, told TDs and senators that he "could not believe" the response when he spoke about his struggles with alcohol and substance abuse four years ago. He spoke to the joint Oireachtas committee on drugs use. He said he has used his life to help others since telling his story when Westmeath lifted the Tailteann Cup in 2022.
