Inside Higher Ed launched the Student Success platform in 2023 to provide service journalism aimed at enhancing student outcomes. Over the last two years, the platform has expanded significantly, quadrupling its newsletter subscribers and fostering a community focused on mental health, academic life, and post-college success. Despite its achievements, reaching new readership has proven difficult. Consequently, to adapt to changing reader interests, the decision was made to transition from a daily to a weekly publication, allowing a greater focus on core news journalism and evolving higher education issues.
