Emma Raducanu has opted to extend her coaching partnership with Mark Petchey on an informal basis following her Miami Open quarter-final performance. Although Raducanu previously considered a trial with another coach, she found comfort in working with Petchey, whom she trusts. After withdrawing from upcoming tournaments to focus on training, she expressed contentment with their collaboration, emphasizing the importance of familiarity as they refine her game. Petchey and close friend Jane O'Donoghue will support her as she continues to navigate her coaching needs alongside his other commitments.
I do feel like I can trust him. For now there is no real thing set in stone but we're taking it week to week.
We created our own little bubble and it was nice to be working on my game out there but at the same time having fun and enjoying it.
I'm happy with the set-up going forward right now it's been working well. I like him a lot and I've known him since before the US Open.
