GLP-1 medications that curb appetite are increasingly available and effective, and are easy to obtain online with minimal screening. Many people have problematic relationships with eating and body weight; nearly a tenth of people will meet clinical benchmarks for an eating disorder at some point. Little is known about how GLP-1 use or misuse affects people who binge or restrict food. One person lost excessive weight after starting Zepbound following prior bariatric surgery, developed health problems and an anorexia diagnosis, and fears stopping the medication despite adverse effects.
