Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been approved by the Republican-controlled Senate to head the Department of Health and Human Services, notwithstanding his controversial vaccine skepticism. All Democratic senators opposed his confirmation, with notable dissent from Sen. Mitch McConnell, who emphasized the life-saving importance of vaccines. Critics argue that Kennedy's history of conspiracy theories discredits him as a nominee for HHS. While the White House asserts his appointment meets qualifications, Kennedy's lack of a medical license and negative public perception raise concerns about his capability to lead health policies.
In my lifetime, I've watched vaccines save millions of lives from devastating diseases across America and around the world. I will not condone the relitigation of proven cures.
All of Trump's nominees were qualified because they have worked in the respective fields of the agencies they'll be leading. Kennedy does not have a medical license or degree.
