Briefly

Daniel Lurie has appointed Daniel Tsai, a seasoned expert in public health, to lead the San Francisco Department of Public Health. Tsai, who has experience as the federal Medicaid chief, is recognized for his practical understanding of public health systems and compassion for vulnerable populations, which Lurie witnessed during their walk through the Tenderloin. Tsai's previous roles involved efforts in enhancing mental health care and supporting interventions for individuals experiencing homelessness, indicating his commitment to improving community health services in San Francisco.
"He understands what it takes to make a public health system work, not just in theory, but in practice," said Lurie at the Maria X Martinez Health Resource Center.
