A former nurse at the Mater Private Hospital, Prisca Umeobi, faced allegations of severe professional misconduct, including neglecting critically ill patients during her employment.
Witnesses described Ms Umeobi as disrespectful, citing incidents like leaving a patient on a bedpan during lunch and failing to provide timely care to vulnerable patients.
The allegations included Umeobi's refusal to accept feedback from superiors and numerous occasions where she failed to administer medication or share critical patient information.
A healthcare assistant recalled one patient's suffering, stating, 'She needed all the care she could get, the poor lady,' highlighting Umeobi's disregard for patient needs.
