Four month scoliosis 'active' surgery list to drop from 86 to 20 at the end of year, says Stephen Donnelly
Briefly

Health Minister Stephen Donnelly highlighted that despite recent increases in surgical waiting lists due to more outpatient clinics, reductions in waiting times for scoliosis surgeries are still being achieved.
Donnelly announced that any child on the active wait list for more than four months after Christmas who is clinically suitable will be offered the option of surgery abroad.
Those children who do need to travel for surgery will be provided with comprehensive support, including flights, accommodation, and financial coverage for other related expenses.
Children's Health Ireland has initiated a program to outsource surgeries abroad, confirming that twenty children were approved for treatment in hospitals in the UK and USA.
