Azamat Murzakanov has accepted a six-month suspension after testing positive for a low-level presence of LGD 4033's metabolite, a banned anabolic agent, caused by a contaminated supplement.
Due to this being Murzakanov's second violation, he received a 180-day suspension rather than the usual 90-day sanction. His prior violation led to a two-year ban in 2017.
Despite the suspension, Murzakanov's positive test was determined not to provide any significant performance advantage, as the levels detected were low.
Murzakanov, a professional fighter with a current record of 14-0, was originally scheduled to compete in UFC 309 against Nikita Krylov before the sanction affected the bout.
