The interactive news map we created for Colorado emphasizes the diverse ways residents engage with their local news, beyond traditional media channels like newspapers and TV.
Our Colorado news mapping project, which features over 600 sources, illustrates the evolving landscape of local news, showcasing everything from social media to community-driven information sharing.
In conducting interviews, we discovered unique sources of local information, such as individuals acting as modern-day town criers, highlighting grassroots efforts to keep communities informed.
The project not only identifies news sources but also analyzes demographic data, facilitating a better understanding of how access to information varies across different counties.
