Paul Beckett will join as a senior editor overseeing national security and foreign policy. Beckett previously led The Wall Street Journal's Washington bureau, directed a campaign to free Evan Gershkovich, covered finance in New York, served as a correspondent in London and Mexico City, and was South Asia bureau chief in New Delhi. Simon Shuster joins as a staff writer with longtime experience at Time magazine. Lily Meyer and Alex Reisner move from contributing roles to staff for books/culture and tech/AI. Yvonne Wingett Sanchez will cover Arizona politics after reporting at The Washington Post and The Arizona Republic, including on threats to democracy.
