Paola Ramos is a Latina political icon - Queerty
Paola Ramos has worked as a correspondent for Vice and as a strategist for Democratic campaigns. She credits her father, journalist Jorge Ramos, with teaching her to understand the balance of power and to hold people accountable in both politics and journalism. Ramos began working in politics in her early 20s and served as Deputy Director of Hispanic Media for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign. She traces her political passion to her Mexican father’s exile from U.S. censorship and her Cuban mother’s family leaving the Castro regime due to lack of freedom of speech. Her later reporting on the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown for Rolling Stone includes firsthand accounts of immigrants choosing to leave the U.S.
""I've learned a lot from my dad...and the biggest lesson from him is that whatever situation you walk into you need to understand the balance of power and your job, no matter if you're in politics or journalism, is to hold people accountable. That's always been a mantra," she said in an interview with Argent."
