Owen Shroyer announced his departure from Infowars after ongoing clashes with founder Alex Jones. Jones regularly criticized Shroyer as negative, a pessimist, and too anti-Trump, and often intervened on Shroyer's show. Shroyer took time off but returned to the same creative constraints, last-minute guests, and Jones entering the studio, which he likened to having someone stare over his shoulder. After a final conversation in which Jones reportedly told him "OK, we don't need you," Shroyer decided not to return. Shroyer also said he had not received a raise since 2018 and was living paycheck-to-paycheck.
Alex had been coming into my show and talking about how I'm negative and calling me a pessimist and all this other stuff, which is fine. You work for Alex, you're gonna get hit with it a lot. Alex is not easy to work for, said Shroyer. He says I'm too negative, he says I'm a pessimist, whatever, I'm too anti-Trump.
Shroyer claimed that after a final discussion with Jones this week, the Infowars founder told him, OK, we don't need you. Good luck. That's it as far as I'm concerned, said Shroyer. So I'm not gonna be going back in, I'm not gonna be hosting the War Room. The Infowars host also complained that he hadn't received a raise since 2018, claiming he was basically just living paycheck-to-paycheck at this point as the cost of living rises.
