Thompson will represent Don Lemon in the Minnesota prosecution related to Lemon's coverage of an anti-deportation protest at Cities Church in St. Paul. Thompson was hired in part because he is licensed in Minnesota and has expertise with the state's court system. Abbe Lowell leads the defense, with Marilyn Bednarski based in California. Lemon was arrested at a Beverly Hills hotel on January 29 and charged with conspiracy to deprive rights and interference with religious freedoms.
