The Washington Association of Black Journalists is set to honor eight outstanding professionals for their achievements in journalism and communications at the gala on Dec. 7.
Allison Seymour, news anchor at WUSA9, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing her long-standing contributions to journalism and community service.
The gala aims not only to celebrate excellence but also to raise funds for scholarships to support local college students pursuing careers in media.
The event will feature awards for various professionals, including Vann R. Newkirk II, who is being recognized as Journalist of the Year for his impactful work.
