On Tuesday, the two companies announced a deal to make New York Times Cooking recipes shoppable via Instacart, of course, and to embed its cooking videos within the Instacart app.
The deal is part of a new trend of subscription businesses - 'pluses' - forging partnerships based on bundled value. Non-subscribed New York Times readers get a 50% offer for Instacart+ and a free Peacock subscription.
"That gets into how difficult this is to actually implement," she said. Instacart makes algorithmic decisions on the best items for a recipe based on location and preferred retailer.
