Omnicom's CEO breaks down his plan to beat rivals in AI after the ad giant's blockbuster $9 billion IPG deal
"We will be in a position, for the foreseeable future, to be able to create the best commercial terms for our clients,"
"Underpinning that is a platforms group powered by generative AI that will be far unmatchable unless you're one of the big six tech companies."
"set to correct very quickly because of all the benefits that we're going to get"
Omnicom completed a roughly $9 billion acquisition of Interpublic Group, making Omnicom the world's largest ad agency holding company. The combined business unites creative and media agencies, health marketing specialists, and production studios with data from Acxiom and the Omni intelligence platform. The merger is expected to yield more than $750 million in cost savings and about 4,000 job cuts. Omnicom leadership says the deal provides fresh agility, scale, and the ability to negotiate stronger commercial terms for clients, underpinned by a platform powered by generative AI. Omnicom expects its stock price to rebound as benefits materialize.
