Mozilla has announced new services including Thundermail and Thunderbird Pro, which aim to enhance communication and file transfer capabilities while prioritizing user privacy. Thundermail is an open-source email service accessible through Thunderbird or the web, allowing users choice between custom domains or standard email. Unlike typical services, it promises not to exploit user data. Meanwhile, Thunderbird Pro will offer a suite of tools including an appointment scheduler and assistive AI features. Subscription models will provide free access to contributors, with plans for free tiers in the future.
We want to provide email accounts to those that love Thunderbird, and we believe that we are capable of providing a better service than the other providers out there, that aligns with our values.
Thundermail will be an email service similar to Gmail that can be used within Thunderbird and on the web, offering both Thundermail email addresses and custom domains.
