There are these two local cards at the top and when you click on them, the local panel for that Google Business Profile opens up. This test was spotted by Khushal Bherwani who shared some screenshots on X."
"Here is what it looks like when you don't click on the ads: Here is what it looks like when you click on the ads: Have you seen this format before? Do you like it? Forum discussion at X."
Google is testing a new card-style format for local ads in search results. The format resembles an older card test from about a year ago. Two local cards appear at the top of the results page. Clicking a card opens the local panel for the corresponding Google Business Profile. Screenshots of both the unclicked and clicked states were shared on X by Khushal Bherwani. The presentation positions local ad units more prominently and offers direct access to profile details via the expanded local panel. Observers are asking whether users have seen and prefer this format.
