"Responsive search ads (RSAs) use Google AI to ensure your ads match users' needs while also highlighting your brand's unique attributes. By providing multiple headlines and descriptions, RSAs automatically test various combinations to identify those most likely to perform for a given search query and user. This is true for many of your business goals, and calls are no different," Google added."
Google will phase out call-only ads and require advertisers to use call assets within responsive search ads (RSAs). New call-only ad creation will be removed in February 2026, and all existing call-only ads will stop receiving impressions in February 2027. RSAs leverage Google AI to match ads to user needs and highlight brand attributes by testing multiple headline and description combinations. Advertisers are strongly encouraged to proactively replace call-only ads with RSAs containing call assets to maintain call lead generation. A transition guide is available and community discussion has appeared on social platforms.
