Google hosted a Creator Summit in Washington, D.C., inviting seven creators to discuss content optimization over three days. The first two days involved a larger Small Business Summit, while day three focused on insights from the Google Search team. Travel blogger Tomiko Harvey highlighted the importance of optimizing her content for search engines and recognized her own flaws in content creation. Unlike last year's event at Googleâs California campus, this summit aimed to provide creators with targeted advice and build on their understanding of optimizing their content.
Tomiko walked away understanding that her content was indeed built for search engines, that it was not a problem Google was just going to fix and her problems will be solved.
It seems Google is doing these mini and really focused events with creators around the world, not just in California.
The first two days of this event was not with the core search team, so the messaging around advice from those days is being mixed with the last day's advice.
She admitted that her content had too much fluff, probably as a way to appeal to her audience, which she realized needs optimization.
