We've seen Bing test three dots before but they were horizontal, the new test are vertical three dots. "Here is what I see, as a comparison: Although Google uses this symbol for both organic results and ads, Bing uses it only for ads.- Sachin Patel (@SachuPatel53124) August 11, 2025"
"Forum discussion at X."
Microsoft Advertising is testing vertical three-dot menu icons in place of the downward arrow for sponsored ad URLs in Bing search results. The three-dot icon appeared previously in horizontal orientation during earlier Bing experiments. The current test uses vertical three dots specifically for ads, while Google applies the same symbol to both organic results and ads. Sachin Patel posted a screenshot on X on August 11, 2025 showing the difference and comparison views. Attempts to replicate the appearance failed for some observers. The experiment appears limited and generated forum discussion on X.
