Meta Shares Update on Detected Foreign Influence Operations

We removed 37 Facebook accounts, 13 Pages, five Groups, and nine accounts on Instagram for violating our policy against coordinated inauthentic behavior. This network originated in China and targeted the global Sikh community, including in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, the UK, and Nigeria.
Chinese-based groups are among the largest and most persistent, with direct evidence suggesting funding by the Chinese Government to influence global opinion for CCP's benefit. TikTok, owned by China, could be a prime channel for such influence.
Meta continues to combat operations from various countries, like Bangladesh, Croatia, Iran, and Israel, and a Russian network, 'Doppelganger,' to weaken international support for Ukraine. The scrutiny on TikTok grows amidst concerns about China-funded influence groups.
