Local business owner to carry balloon in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, fulfilling 'lifelong dream'
"As a kid, I woke up every Thanksgiving morning just to watch the parade. I was captivated by the energy and the brands that made it to that stage,"
"To now have our company represented in front of millions is truly surreal. This is a dream come true."
"Just as the balloon declares 'Believe,' I believe in Jesus Christ,"
Jeff DeHaven, president and CEO of Saginaw-based Digital Mitten, will help carry the iconic red 'Believe' star balloon in the 2025 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, Nov. 27. The parade will air live on NBC and stream on Peacock from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The event draws an estimated 31.3 million television viewers annually and roughly 3 million in-person attendees along the 2.5-mile New York City route. The 2025 parade marks the 99th production year since the event began in 1924. DeHaven said the appearance fulfills a lifelong dream and that the 'Believe' balloon holds personal meaning tied to his Christian faith.
