The Chinese ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, wrote on the social media platform X, "Today is a good day," which many Nepalese took to mean that the talks to reinstate TikTok had been finalized.
Mr. Oli has made no secret of his opposition to the previous government's handling of Chinese apps, framing his administration's decision as a move toward greater digital integration with China.
