It's almost impossible to learn anything after one match but when you're the manager of Manchester United and there's been nearly a month of anticipation for your first match, the spotlights and magnifying glasses are going to firmly be affixed to you.
Perhaps the only thing we truly learned is what the priority of the rest of the season was going to look like. If Manchester United were going to climb up the table and have a chance of qualifying for the Champions League they had to take all three points.
If we're generous and say the target for the top four is 65 points, United would need to win 1.88 points per match the rest of the way, a very tall task for a team that is currently winning just 1.33.
