Marcus Rashford has found his scoring touch at Aston Villa, netting twice in a 3-0 victory over Preston North End that propels them to the FA Cup semi-finals. The forward, who had not scored in his previous nine games since joining on loan from Manchester United, has contributed significantly with four assists and six goals overall in competitive play. Villa aims to secure a European place, which may influence Rashford’s potential permanent transfer for £40 million, contingent on performance and ambition for Champions League qualification.
Rashford scored twice in the space of five second-half minutes as Villa beat Championship side Preston North End 3-0 at Deepdale, with Jacob Ramsey also on target.
I feel like I've been getting fitter and playing better football since I've been here. I missed a lot of football before joining up with them. My body feels good and I'm enjoying my football for now.
It's always nice for a forward to get a goal, so hopefully it continues.
We can't waste time speaking about that. We have to take it one game at a time and give it 100% on the pitch and see where it takes us.
