"In my [Palace] contract, [is] one paragraph, I tell you, [that] I am not allowed to bet, and I don't look at it [the odds],"
"I cannot also give insider information, because then I am also breaking my contract. I am Crystal Palace manager and I just think it makes no sense, and is also wasted time for you to ask me any more questions, so I don't talk about any other club than Crystal Palace."
"You can sign a new contract, like managers did in the Premier League this year, and [now] they aren't the manager there any more. Even if I sign a new contract, you could ask me every day, 'What is the future?' There is one situation which keeps you in your job when you are a manager -- and this is being successful. It is the only thing to survive [in] this job."
Oliver Glasner is concentrating solely on his role at Crystal Palace and is not worrying about odds or outside speculation linking him to Manchester United. Glasner's Palace contract contains a clause forbidding betting and the sharing of insider information, and no contract extension has been agreed. Glasner warns that signing a new deal does not guarantee long-term tenure, and stresses that sustained success is the only way for a manager to survive in the job. Captain Marc Guéhi, out of contract at season's end and close to a move last summer, could move to Manchester City if Palace’s valuation is met amid City’s defensive injury issues.
