Mason Mount and Matheus Cunha both left the Burnley match early with injuries, leaving their availability uncertain. Mount was withdrawn at half-time with an unspecified problem after performing well and was replaced by Kobbie Mainoo; he played approximately 30 minutes while carrying the issue and the substitution was precautionary. Cunha pulled up with a hamstring problem, went straight down the tunnel and awaits further assessment. Noussair Mazraoui returned from injury to the bench and made a late cameo replacing Leny Yoro. One Argentine player remains a long-term absentee recovering from an ACL injury sustained in February and is unlikely to return before autumn.
But it was not all good news for the Red Devils, as both Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount failed to complete the 90 minutes after picking up injuries. Cunha went straight down the tunnel after pulling up off the ball with a hamstring issue, while Mount was taken off at half-time with little explanation as to why.
