Manager linked with Manchester United hit with 6 month ban
"I fully accept responsibility for my actions and understand the seriousness of this matter. I have taken steps to ensure that it will not happen again. Alongside the disqualification, Glasner was also ordered to pay a £600 fine, as well as £130 in court costs and a £264 victim surcharge, bringing the total financial penalty to more than £1000."
"The Austrian manager was recorded by a speed camera driving his BMW at 29mph in 20mph on Old Kent Road in July last year. Court records revealed that Glasner already had previous offences on his licence. Because of that, the additional penalty points automatically triggered a driving ban."
Oliver Glasner, the 51-year-old manager of Crystal Palace, has been disqualified from driving for six months following a speeding offense. In July of the previous year, Glasner was recorded by a speed camera driving his BMW at 29mph in a 20mph zone on Old Kent Road in Bermondsey, London. With prior offences already on his driving record, the additional penalty points automatically triggered the disqualification. Glasner pleaded guilty in writing to Willesden Magistrates' Court and submitted a handwritten statement accepting full responsibility. Beyond the driving ban, he was ordered to pay £600 in fines, £130 in court costs, and £264 in victim surcharge, totaling over £1,000. The Metropolitan Police brought the case forward under the Single Justice Procedure.
