Exclusive | The 13 flights United Airlines is most likely to cancel at Newark airport as chaos shows no signs of slowing
Briefly

Newark Liberty International Airport has seen significant chaos with many cancellations, chiefly from United Airlines, which accounts for 75% of Newark's traffic. In response to staff shortages, aging safety measures, and ongoing runway work, United has canceled 35 daily flights to smaller cities, targeting routes that typically operate with less lucrative passenger volumes. Experts note that international flights remain stable as they typically involve larger aircraft and higher fares. Individuals relying on smaller destinations may face increased disruptions as United prioritizes maintaining more profitable routes.
Here are the 13 flights that United has canceled most often since the crisis began: UA3603, UA3684, UA3626, UA2161, UA3528, UA3437, UA3609, UA3469, UA3675, UA3481, UA3712, UA3509, UA3514.
United CEO Scott Kirby announced a reduction in flights at Newark in a May 2 letter to customers, citing staffing shortages at the Philadelphia air traffic control.
The flights that would probably be least impacted would be the international flights, the ones where people are coming on connections from all over.
What they don't want to do is affect the real high-ticket flights, said Kyle Bailey, a former FAA Safety Team representative and pilot.
